It is the area where the city was rebuilt in Pagos (Kadife Mountain) outside Izmir (Smyrna). Founded in the 4th century BC, there are remains of the Hellenic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods that have survived to this day. Kadifekale is located on a 186-meter-high hill south of the city. It is rumored that Amazon women living in Kadifekale, whose old name is edil Pagos ek, descended from the skirts of the mountain and continued their domination for many years. This castle was built by Lymachos, one of the generals of Alexander the Great. And today there are remains of this period. There are cisterns belonging to Byzantine period. Only 5 towers west of the citadel and a section of its walls in the south remain. The other parts are in ruins. The project carried out by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in terms of tourists, works are carried out to contribute to tourism.
