DELILLER HANI

The House of Evidence, located near the Mardin Gate, was built by Hüsrev Pasha in 1527. It is also known as ”Hüsrev Pasha Han” or anı Kervansaray Bu. The main reason why the people said the House of Evidence is that the guides (proofs) that were gathered here to go to the Hijaz from the Islamic countries were kept in this inn. The large area opposite the inn was called the ılar Pilgrimage Ruin Han.

There is a barn section on the sections facing the street in front of the House of Evidence. This is a single storey, and the other parts of the inn are two-storey. This section, made of black and white stone rows, has an entrance overflowing. Apart from this, shops are lined up in the lower part and the shops continue in front of the barn section.
Hana is entered through a door framed by geometric interlaced curbs and muqarnas niches at the sides. After the entrance, which resembles a mansion, there are porticoes around a central courtyard with fountains and the rooms of the khan behind them. There are stairs to the second floor. On the second floor behind the porches carried by the thick legs are the rooms of the khan. The rooms with niches on the walls are opened with a window as well as doors to the portico. However, as these windows are opened in a single row, it is a little dark inside.
The porticoes of the arches extending in the east-west direction are covered with barrel vaults. Today, Deliller Inn is used as Kervansaray Hotel.
