One of the most beautiful examples that protect the characteristics of Diyarbakır Houses is the house where Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı was born. The house was built in 1733 in Diyarbakır City Center, Mosque Kebir Mahallesi, Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı Sokak No: 3. Later, Cahit Sıtkı was transferred to the family of Tarancı. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı was born on 2 October 1910 in this house. In 1973, after being renewed by the Ministry of Culture, it was opened as a museum in order to live the memory of Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı in the 50th Anniversary of the Republic on October 29, 1973.
