He is the father-in-law of Osman Bey who was the founder of the Ottoman State. He is an expert in the fields of hadith and Islamic law. Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi and Hacı Bektaşi Veli have been in the conversations of famous scholars of the period. Sheikh Edebali, who built a dergah in Bilecik, hosted Osman Bey many times. Edebali is one of the heads of Anatolian Ahis.

Sheikh Edebali died in 1326 at the age of 120 in Bilecik. It was built by Osman Gazi.

Together with Sheikh Edebali, there are six large and four small sarcophagus in the tomb. There are two other rooms besides the Sanduka room. The tomb and the dervish, Sultan II. It was restored during the reign of Abdülhamid II and in 2012.

A tomb is located next to the tomb, which is estimated to have been built on the same dates, including Osman Gazi's wife, Bala Hatun, and her mother's chests.

Where and How to Go

Şeyh Edebali Tomb is located in the city center of Bilecik. There is a road to the mausoleum just across from Bilecik Bus Terminal.
