Diyarbakır XVI. mosque It is located near the Mardin Gate in the south of the city. It was built by Behrâm Pasha, the son of Kara Şahin Mustafa Pasha, the thirteenth Ottoman governor and the Beylerbeyi Sokullu family. It is understood that the construction of the inscription in the sentence gate was completed in 979 (1564) and completed in 980 (1572). The architect Sinan is considered to be an important work and a test structure outside of Istanbul, but only Tuhfetü birl-mi birmârin ancak is the source of his works. It is a mosque with a single domed and one minarets and a place with a double porch and a bead. In fact, it is understood to be considered as a complex; bath is also standing. The knotty knotted pillars are noteworthy. The minaret was partially demolished in 1928 and repaired in the same style the following year. The most important feature of the intriguing architecture is the movement in the walls of the single-domed harim. The building system covered with tromp dome sitting on four walls made a change and rectangular cavities were obtained on the walls which were kept thick. Each of them has a small niche and two interiors were placed between them. Thus, instead of four walls in the dome in a way, an octagonal foot system is seated. As a result of leaving gaps in thick walls, four square spaces have emerged in four corners. The inner side of the cavities, which form a cell covered with small domes, are provided from the inside. In fact, the last community place with five domes is surrounded by columns and forms a wide bead because it is placed under an inclined roof and with this feature it is also suitable for the tradition of making prayer in the region outdoors. The fact that two different colored stones were used in the walls, including the facades of the last congregation, provided a decorative mobility to the external view. In the interior, the muqarnas fillings on the trompic feet attract attention as architectural decoration elements and XVI. century Iznik tiles also participate in the two-color view of the sentence door. Diyarbakır Behram Pasha Mosque, which has a similarity with the main space schemes of the Balıî Paşa and Silivrikapı İbrahim Pasha mosques in Istanbul, is one of the important experimental structures of Sinan although it is mentioned in a single source.
